This weekend, it was revealed that King Von, the 26-year-old rapper, was shot and killed outside of a nightlife venue in Atlanta. Ever since the rising star’s death was reported in the mainstream media, many in the hip-hop community have come out to commemorate the fallen rapper.
For instance, Asian Doll, who was in an on-and-off relationship with him, claimed she was ready to “die” because she was grieving so much. Many other rappers appeared affected as well, including Lil’ Durk, his friend, and business partner, who reportedly deleted his IG account this weekend.
While it has struck a chord in the rap scene, Hot New Hip Hop says the Atlanta Police Department is now looking into the shooting, and arrests and apprehensions have already been made. Timothy Leeks, 22, is just one such person who was arrested and charged with murder, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.
A spokesperson for the police, Marla Jean Rooker, claimed Mr. Leeks has been apprehended by the authorities and sent to a hospital where he was being treated for gunshot wounds. She went on to say that the homicide case with “Bennet” was closed.
In case you missed it, a report from earlier this week claimed that a man named T-Black was suspected to be the shooter who killed King Von. Additionally, social media users suggested the rapper and his friends were fighting with Quando Rondo.
Either way, it’s been a tragedy for everyone close to King Von, including his fans, family, friends, and business partners. As it was noted above, Lil’ Durk was on his Instagram Live this weekend, and some reports claim he found out about King Von’s death in front of his fans.
DJ Akademiks later reported on the fact Lil’ Durk’s Instagram account appeared to disappear entirely with no explanation.
This all came after the news that Tekashi 6ix9ine – who Durk had been feuding with earlier this year – mocked King Von and Lil’ Durk in the comment section of his IG live. 6ix9ine and Lil’ Durk haven’t gotten along ever since 6ix9ine was released from prison.
